  5. Ed was such a wonderful personality. We cannot forget his mention of “three things” on Sundays when closing the service at St. Louis McKnight Church of Christ. And he will never forget to mention “Nancy and I”. He loved his wife and family so much and was a very good friend to us and many others. We’ll miss him. Please take heart Nancy and the children because Ed has fought the good fight and he is resting peacefully with the Lord.

  7. I had the privilege of hiring Ed as a Tour Guide at Busch Stadium. He was an excellent guide, engaging fans of all ages and backgrounds (lifelong fans or casual guests). Ed relished telling young fans about his memories from attending games at Sportsman’s Park/Busch Stadium I.

Ed was a steady presence and a voice of reason. I learned a lot from him about the Cardinals, general work/leadership experience and several life lessons. His faith was evident and his convictions were clear. We shared many conversations about family (I remember him writing his book of life lessons for his grandkids), camping and God. My condolences to Nancy and the family during this time.

  8. When I first started at MindsEye in 2012 one of the first volunteers I bonded with was Ed. I thoroughly enjoyed discussing sports with him and listening to him share stories about growing up a lifelong St. Louis sports fan. He not only lent his voice to reading the sports pages for blind and low vision residents, he also helped lead stadium tours for blind visitors and provided play by play for our original beep baseball tournament. He left a memorable impression on myself and those impacted by MindsEye’s mission. Our condolences to his entire family and loved ones during this time.
