Turnbough-Minnie

In Loving Memory

Turnbough, Minnie

Minnie Mae Turnbough, nee Crabtree was born January 8, 1925 in Courtois, MO to Carac Alvin Crabtree and Emma Elizabeth (Turnbough) Crabtree.  She passed on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 97 years old.

Minnie grew up in a two story farmhouse in rural Missouri and walked down the creek to go to school.  After high school she headed to St. Louis to find work.  On July 14, 1951 she married Harold Lee Turnbough, her adoring husband.  They loved to travel and were able to travel to all 50 states, Europe and Mexico before Harold passed in 2004.  They had 3 daughters that they raised in their St. Louis home.

Minnie really loved going to beach and her last beach trip was a trip to Destin, FL in 2015 for her 90th birthday celebration with all her family.  Even at 90 she was playing ping pong, walking the beach and enjoying all the fun with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.  She was always positive and encouraging and had a great outlook every day.  She was fun to be with and will be greatly missed by everyone.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carac and Emma Crabtree, her husband of 53 years Harold, infant grandson Justin Kohl, three infant brothers, brother Orville (Lucille) Crabtree, three sisters, Eunice (Harry) Wood, Geraldine (Joseph) Alexander,  Jennie “Bernice” (Jacob) Adams, sisters-in-law Nadene (Winifred) Blair, and Hilma (Paul) Thompson.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Mike) Marx, Brenda (Mike) Rabbitt and Janice (Todd) Kohl, seven grandchildren, Jason (Jeannie) Marx, Stephanie Marx, Colleen (Jamie) Smith, Austin (Jessie) Rabbitt, Emily Marshall & fiancé Tim Berryman, Zach Kohl, and Lindsey (Jesse) Stewart, 9 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and neighbors.

Service at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois Rd. (63123)   Saturday September 24, 2022.

Visitation 10-11am and Service at 11am.

  1. I only met Minnie once! She was a bright light that beamed love and joy from the inside out! I can see why she lived such a long life! She made me and Dale feel like we always knew her! Complete joy! Colleen told me she jumped on a little trampoline in her 90’s! So, I bought one! Every time I’m on it…I think of her! What a life to celebrate! She will be missed! We send
    condolences to all her family
