  2. I don’t have words to express how hurt I am and devastated I was when I got the news of your passing. We shared so much in life and have so many good memories that come to mind. From the first time I began to teach you eddy and then you became much better at him than I ever could be going on to win and make a name for yourself to our hilarious debates over who was better Alien Xenomorphs or Predators. It was so good to see you at the Tekken monthly’s sitting and talking with you after so much time where life just owned us and we hadn’t spoken in some time. We picked right back up on all things Eddy Gordo and then laughed at all the ” shenanigans” that were going on in the world. Though the game united us we became so much more over the years. You were and are my brother and I greatly miss you. I know that you are in heaven now as you were also a brother in Christ and I will carry on everything that you taught me of living, loving and laughing by keeping your memories and fun times alive. Rest in Power brother until we meet again.

  6. When I heard over the weekend that Brad had passed away I was shocked. I’ve been pretty saddened over his unfortunate passing. I am a gamer as well. I never got the chance to meet Brad or speak to him in person but we did correspond via Facebook over the possibility of a friendly match back in 2014. He was always kind to me, a complete stranger and responded back to my requests more than once. Rest in peace to you sir. I highly admired you and still do. Your gaming career had a huge impact on my gaming & how I played Tekken (Capo’s). Condolences to Brad’s family for their loss. I am extremely sorry and saddened over this.

  9. I’m so sorry for your loss. I was fortunate to meet Brad way back in 2000 through videogames, and have always remembered his humor, wit, and grace. He was an amazing person and has impacted many lives, including this one. I’ll always remember him.

  10. The good times and laughs had with Brad over the years were plentiful. I swear that man said the silliest and most quotable things – some of which are still in my lexicon 25 years later. I’m very fortunate to have spent a lot of amazing times with him and the rest of the STL crew.

My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. Sending love from Iowa.

  11. I met Brad in 2000 and the sheer number of quotable things that came out of his mouth always made me laugh. He was a funny dude and I always enjoyed when we would cross paths across the various Midwest tournaments.

The outpouring of love posted here speaks volumes of how highly we all thought of him.

Sending love and condolences to all his friends and family, from his friends back in Chicago.

  12. Vitale Family!!!
Thank you for raising such an extraordinary individual! I never knew his last name was Vitale. A strong name to live up to and he did well. Now I understand why he had such a sense of hubris which we all enjoyed. I smile when I reflect back on my memories of Brad. He impacted everyone he touched and I’m proud to say I know him. Let’s lock arms. We are going through tough times but I believe we can make it together!
With love from the Stewart family!!!

  13. I did not know Brad/Slips. But I am a big enthusiast of the Galloping Ghost Arcade. They dedicated their Monday YouTube/Twitch stream to him. They talked about him and put up an additional video on their YouTube channel as well. I can tell how easy it was for others to find him, a joy to be with. I can tell that so many loved him. Slips will not be forgotten.

  14. I first learned about Brad at the Galloping Ghost Arcade near Chicago. I was new to world record chasing at the time, and Brad had the high score there for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles In Time. He and I competed on the game for a time, with Brad taking back the score in 2018. I never met him in person, but always wished I had. I am so sorry to hear of his passing, and will be keeping the family in prayer.

  15. My sincere condolences to the friends and family. I met Brad/ Slips at Evo 2007 in Las Vegas, saw him again at 8 on the Break in Dunellan, NJ in 2008, and one last time at Extravaganza 14 in 2010 in Iowa. Players in Korea and Peru knew about his skill, originality, and flair. He was a genius and master of games in the same order as Garry Kasparov, Manny Pacquiao, & Kareem Abdul Jabar. Tall words indeed but his legacy deserves it. There was only one Slips. His precision, knowledge and passion opened up the game for other players – by example and also as others tried to keep pace with him. He will be sorely missed. A king rests in peace.

  16. In memory of Brad ‘Slips’ Vitale, not only a godlike gamer and champion that was the finest minded among us of the St. Louis (STL) Tekken crew but also a genuinely good man that was never afraid to speak his mind or say something so uniquely ‘Brad’ that was either genuine or hilarious (and sometimes both at the same time). We had a lot of good times traveling and hanging out in those carefree times of our 20s and even 30s, a richness of the simple enjoyments of life, gaming, food, movies, bars, you name it, and I’m so glad to have been able to be a part of all of those shared experiences. Rest In Peace Slipkicks, your mark on the fighting game community and the STL crew, no matter where they are now, will never be forgotten.

  17. I write this as his homegoing is taking place. I couldn’t get off of work, but I wanted to give my deepest condolences to the Vitale family. My fondest memories of Brad wasn’t video games. It was the family time spent that I had the privilege to witness. Weather it’s me and his dad complaining about bad calls in the superbowl or us watching UFC fights with Chad and friends, or his mom offering homemade cookies as we played games, or just Brad and Shen just telling stories of their childhood. I love how close and tight-knit you all are as a family. I’m really going to miss my friend. Rest in peace Brad, and may the lord comfort your family in this trying time.

  18. Please know I am keeping your Family in my thoughts and prayers each day and I will continue to.

What an Amazing, successful, brilliant, competitive, kind, and loving young man Brad served while on earth which was evident from all the messages I read through from his friends. Brad touched many lives around the world and that’s something to be very proud of…John 11:25-26, Jesus tells Martha, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.
