Donald Martin Winkelmann, 81, of Arnold, MO Fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. He was born on August 11, 1943 to the late Eleanor Ann (Broeker) and Otto Francis Winkelmann, Sr.
Don was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Peggy (nee Redman). Though they had no children, Don and Peggy were honorary parents/grandparents to many nieces and nephews.
Don is survived by brothers and sisters Joseph Winkelmann (Mary Francis), Mary Jane Zerrer (late Jerome), Loretta Winkelmann, Ronald Winkelmann, Diane Sperber (late David). He was proceeded in death by his sister & brothers Otto Winkelmann, Jr (late Margaret), Eleanor Ann Koch (late Richard), George Winkelmann and Edmund Winkelmann. Our dearest uncle, great uncle, nephew, cousin, godfather, and friend.
Don retired from Anheuser-Bush in 2000. He loved tending to his yard to make it the greenest lawn in the neighborhood and enjoyed years of showing his classic car in car shows. Don spent many hours enjoying Cardinal baseball games with his twin brother Ronald from spring thru fall. In the last 11 years since the passing of his wife, Don spent a lot of his time with his honorary grandkids, Steven Fox and Samanatha Kohler and their children giving him many happy memories. Don was a friend to everyone he would meet, never held a grudge and always willing to help those in need. He was the closest a person could be to following a Christ-like walk in life and he will be sincerely missed

Kindest and most gentle man I have known. He cared for so many with a full heart. During our hundred or so breakfasts he spoke of Kathleen and the gang with pride and excitement. Of course, after a Cardinals game he shared all of his and his twin’s escapades. Infectious smile and a legacy of warmth.
I’m so sorry Tom and Jodi . Thinking of you guys as you navigate through these difficult times.
Don is our 7:00 am Sunday Mass buddy at Immaculate Conception Church in Arnold. Our young grandaughters always looked forward to his wonderful smile and fist bump. He will sorely be missed in our congregation and we are so fortunate to have had his company and friendship. Our prayers for a wonderful person. God bless you Don.
