Carol Ann Zimmer, RN, MSN, 62, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital surrounded by family and friends, after a brave battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Born on February 1, 1964, Carol dedicated her life to caring for others. She spent more than 30 years as a nurse, serving countless patients with compassion, strength, and kindness, as a nurse preceptor at Southern Baptist University, she helped shape the next generation of caregivers, mentoring students with patience, wisdom, and encouragement.
Carol’s faith guided her far beyond the hospital walls. She participated in three mission trips across two continents, helping build schools and support an orphanage for children in need. Closer to home, she generously gave her time to homeless outreach services, always seeking ways to uplift and care for others.
Above all, Carol loved her family deeply. She was the mom who always said yes — chaperoning school and church events, supporting every milestone, and packing up the car for camping trips with her children nearly every weekend. Her warmth, laughter, and steady presence created lasting memories for all who knew and loved her.
Carol is survived by her beloved children, Nicholas (Kelsey) of Texas, Danielle (Nathan) and grandson Ezra of Texas. Her mother, Betty of St. Louis and her sisters, Mary Curran of Florida, Catherine Hunt of Seattle, and Linda O’Hanlon of St. Louis. Carol was preceded in death by her son, William, and her father, Walter.
Carol was a devoted daughter, sister, nurse, teacher, and friend who led with compassion and consistently showed up for others. Her legacy of service, faith, and love will continue to live on in the many lives she touched.
