Sheila Habbe, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home in St. Louis, Missouri, on June 30, 2026.
Sheila was born on November 29, 1946, in Monroe County, Missouri, to Lavern and Yvonne Weisenborn. She grew up on her family’s farm in Maud, Missouri, where she learned the values of hard work, perseverance, and compassion. The lessons she learned during her childhood remained with her throughout her life and helped shape the caring, resilient woman she became. She attended local schools and later graduated from Clarence High School.
Sheila found joy in life’s simple pleasures and treasured every moment spent with family and friends. She was a devoted fan of Elvis Presley. She loved watching movies, with Dirty Dancing holding a special place as her all-time favorite. She watched it over and over again, so often that family members could probably recite the movie right along with her.
Whether enjoying a favorite film, sharing laughter over a game, or simply spending time with the people she loved, Sheila embraced every opportunity to make lasting memories.
Family was the center of Sheila’s life. She is survived by her brother, Lyell Kent Weisenborn and his wife, Mary Lou, of Clarence, Missouri; her daughters, Virginia Brewer of Warren, Indiana, Dawn Giddens of St. Louis, Missouri, and Natasha Hartmen of Springboro, Ohio; her grandchildren, Alisha Hill of Warren, Indiana, Olivia Julius of St. Louis, Missouri, Lauren Julius of La Plata, Missouri, Ryan Hartmen Kernersville North Carolina, and Sierra Hartman of Springboro, Ohio; and two great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory and the many moments they shared together.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lavern and Yvonne Weisenborn; her niece, Victoria Ann Weisenborn; and her beloved grandson, Jason Pierce.
Sheila will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, her quiet strength, her kind heart, and the warmth she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her gentle spirit, generous nature, and infectious smile left an enduring mark on the lives of those around her. She taught others, not through grand gestures, but through the everyday example of kindness, compassion, and unconditional love.
Her life was a testament to the importance of family, friendship, and finding happiness in life’s everyday moments. Though she has departed this world, the love she gave so freely and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.” — Irish Proverb
