(nee DeBlaze) Monday, April 3, 2017, fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church. Beloved wife of 57 years to the late James R.

Lanigan; dear mother of the late James R. Lanigan Jr. (Mary Elizabeth), MaryAnn Lanigan Gansner and the late Joan Lanigan Kadlec; dear mother-in-law to Edwin (Lisa) Kadlec; beloved grandmother to James Gansner, David Gansner, James R. Lanigan III, Laura Lanigan (Thomas O’Reilly-Pol) and Edwin Kadlec; dear great  grandmother to Jack and Ben Gansner and Reese and Lani Gansner;  beloved sister to the late Vincent DeBlaze (Gloria) and the late Augustine Schweitzer (Gordon); dear aunt and friend to many.

Known for her athletic abilities and competitive nature, she loved cycling, volleyball, softball and tennis which she played into her seventies. But mostly, she loved her family.

Marie Lanigan was known to all for her pride, passion,  dedication and courage. She was preceded in death by her  parents, her siblings, her husband, and two of her three  children, and she was strong to the very end.

Services: Funeral from KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., Tuesday April 11, 9:30 a.m. to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for 10 a.m. Mass.  Interment Resurrection Cemetery.  Visitation Monday, 4-8 p.m.[]
