January 5, 1967 – April 30, 2024
Andrew Joseph, fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church, April 30, 2024. Beloved son of Nancee Amann (nee Wilson) and the late Arnold Amann, loving nephew of Marilyn(late Bob) Davis, loving cousin of Daniel(Bridget) Amann, Mike(Tammy) Davis, John(Tammy) Wilson, Brenda (Jim)Bock, the late Julie Schmitt, Tina (Michael) Sredojevich, Matthew (Lisa) Davis, John(Melissa) Amann, Jeff Amann, Gary Habich, Eric(Teresa) Roesslein, Joshua (Heather) Roesslein, dear Godfather of Miles Amann, many more cousins and friends to many.
Andy was born on January 5, 1967, to Arnold and Nancee (Wilson) Amann, and grew up in south St Louis and attended Holy Family Church and School and then St Mary’s High School. Many of his closest friends today are those he met in his early years. This is about the same time that he became a lifelong fan of the Lone Ranger, a passion that stayed with him the rest of his life. Sports were always a big part of Andy’s life. Growing up Andy was a big Cardinals fan, the baseball Cardinals that is. When it came to football, Andy was one of the biggest Dallas Cowboys fans you will ever meet. He would go to the football Cardinals-Cowboys games with his dad wearing his Cowboy’s jersey and helmet, talking smack to the Cardinals fans the whole game! He also was a big supporter of the Cowboys Cheerleaders. One of Andy’s greatest moments in sports is when his Slow Pitch Softball team, The Aces, won the City Championship, with his dad, Arny managing.
After high school, he decided it was time to go to “hardy” work and became a Stagehand. Andy worked as a stagehand for over 35 years. He was a fixture behind the scenes at The Fox Theatre, Enterprise Center, Busch Stadium, Webster University, and other venues. He was a tireless worker, who made friends not only with the other “backstage” workers, but also many times with the stars of the shows. His annual photo Christmas Card had everyone waiting with anticipation to see who his latest celebrity friend was. Stan Musial, Roger Staubach, and Albert Pujols from the sports world, musicians like Ringo Starr, Snoop Dog, Santana and Rick Springsteen, and Celebrities like Carmen Electra, Ann Margret, and Hulk Hogan, and of course Clayton Moore, (Lone Ranger), adorned the cards.
Andy was one of those people who knew everyone, and everyone seemed to know Andy! If you were friends with him on Facebook, you were treated to an endless supply of photos of Andy and his friends, family, or acquaintances. You were also amazed by the endless supply of photos of Andy with famous people, who he called friends. Yadi Molina, Ricky Henderson, Adam Wainright, Bob Gibson, Lou Brock, Willie McGee, and the list goes on. Andy was a HUGE Black Sabbath and Ozzie Osbourne fan. His pictures are all over Facebook and Andy never missed a chance to listen to his music or go to a concert. Andy had the opportunity to meet his wife Sharon Osbourne and of course she and Andy became longtime friends. Any discussion of Andy’s Facebook page wouldn’t be complete without mentioning his wide range of topics! From his political rants, hilarious mems, over the top Birthday wishes, and pictures of his dog Max, his posts were always entertaining. Born and raised Catholic, the most important was his monthly prayer to the Virgin Mary!
Family was important to Andy, his dad, Arnie, was a major influence in his life, and when he passed away, his mom, Nancee moved in with Andy. In typical Andy fashion, he complained about having his mom living with him, but it was all an act. Andy was a great son who took his mom out to dinner all the time, trips to Las Vegas and the annual trips to Florida, including Disney World to see her beloved Mickey Mouse. An only child, his cousins were a big part of his life. To be fair, his family and his friends were a big part of his life. Andy’s heart was almost too big to fit into his chest. He was one of the kindest, nicest, and most generous people you will ever meet. Andy was constantly doing something for someone else. We will all miss him dearly, but to anyone who met Andy, you were lucky, and to anyone who was family or friend, you were truly blessed!

Andy was the best
Andy you were a brother from the union but a friend for life. Though I had to move away from StLouis for my family you remained in contact and friendship. The only thing I missed more than your companionship at work may be Nancie’s cookies you were always helping her with. Your spirit and attitude will be sorely missed. I’m sure you already have trucks in heaven.

My sincere condolences to Andy’s family. I didn’t know him well, but I know he was an amazingly thoughtful man. He made my day when he brought me a tiny birthday cake when his appointment in our office fell on my birthday. I don’t think Andy knew a stranger. I’m sure he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
