Contestabile, Clarence A.

Clarence A. Contestabile, 88, passed on to new life in God’s Kingdom on Saturday, May 27th 2023.
Dear son of Pasquale and Drusolina (Rapini) Contestabile. Beloved husband of Betty Contestabile (nee Clark) and the late Judith Contestabile (nee Barton). Dear father of Kelly (Mark) Gregorie, Steven (Brenda) Contestabile and Lisa Contestabile. Dear brother of the late Edmond Contestabile and Dahlia Ide (nee Contestabile). Beloved stepfather, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather to many.
Clarence served honorably as a St. Louis Police Officer attaining the rank of Sergeant as well as an airman in the United States National Guard. He is remembered fondly by family and friends for his storytelling and quick wit.
Services: Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel (5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., Saint Louis, MO 63129) Friday, June 2 at 10:00 until funeral at 12:00 pm. Internment at Sunset Memorial Park at 3:00.

  3. I will surely miss my little brother. I’ll miss his jokes, occasional phone calls and his great kindness. We had wonderful memories growing up in our small home. Betty, please know that I’ll be praying for you. Kelly, Steve and Lisa, I’ll be praying for you as well. Love, Aunt Dahlia.

  5. Clarence was a wonderful, kind and loving human being.. His stories, Dad jokes and sense of humor are legendary. I don’t think he ever met a stranger. Beloved father to Kelly, Steve and Lisa and father figure to many; myself included. His Grandchildren, Tony, Julie and Paige; grandchildren, Anthony and Liam Contestabile, will miss him greatly.♥️

One of my earliest childhood memories is of my Uncle Clarence, pulling me onto his lap, bouncing me on his knees, all the while singing “Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty Peggy Sue….” I always felt so loved and special in my Uncle’s eyes. And I know I wasn’t alone. He cared for everyone he came in contact with. So looking forward to spending eternity with him. My deepest condolences to the family. Love you all and praying for the Lord’s presence and peace. Isaiah 43:1-3.
