Paula - Brussels Ferry - June 1986

In Loving Memory

Griffith, Paula

June 14, 1953 - May 22, 2024

Paula Griffth, born to John Kelly and Pauline Agnes (Tylka) Griffith on 14 June 1953, died on 22 May 2024 after living fully for a year and a half with cancer.  In that accomplishment, she would gratefully acknowledge the help from Missouri Baptist’s committed and inventive oncology unit and the generous BJC hospice team.   Predeceased by her parents and a sister, Susan, she is survived by loving family members, a sister, Margaret, brothers James and Steven, and several nieces and nephews and friends.  She enjoyed many years employed as clerical staff at the law firm of Greensfelder, Hemker, and Gale, and after retirement, she enjoyed visiting parks—especially Lone Elk—going out to dinners with long-time friends, and tracing and writing about the family’s history.  In completing her own branch of the family tree, she joins that history and now knows all of it.

Memorial visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Rd. 63123 on Saturday, June 1 from 2-4 pm. Services and interment will be held in private.

  1. So sorry to hear about this. I knew Paula through our Chicago Slovak Genealogy and our family connections in Namestovo, Slovakia.

  2. Paula was my cousin, our mothers were sisters. Even though we lived hundreds of miles apart our families were very close, visiting at least twice a year and sharing memorable vacations together. As adults we kept in touch and saw each other regularly.
Paula was such a special person, she laughed easily and was an expert storyteller. My mother called her a most wonderful conversationalist, I would agree. Paula showed special attention to my grandchildren, she always brought them small gifts and handmade treasures. She even brought my dog treats.
Paula was so full of life and brought such joy to me. I will miss her forever.

  3. Paula was a friend and co-worker who always had me laughing! I could be having a bad day at work and after 5 minutes with Paula I forgot about my bad day. We had several moments at work that we would talk about from our earlier years and we would just crack up!! She will be dearly missed!!

She will be sorely missed by many.

  6. Paula was a wonderful friend for many years. She loved her family and friends and would do anything she could for anyone. She was easy to make laugh and to make us laugh. We met in the park during covid keeping our distance, giving us each something to look forward to. Paula was always there to keep our spirits up. I have a huge hole in my heart.

  7. I met Paula working at Greensfelder, and she trained me my first days on the job. She was a part of my life for over 20 years. Several of us gals at Greensfelder ate lunch together almost every day and were known as the “Lunch Bunch.” We celebrated life together, cried together, shared our secrets, and became like sisters. Paula was the best storyteller and I feel as if I knew her family even though I had never met them. What a special person Paula was! I have never known anyone like her and am deeply blessed to have known her.

  8. Paula was my mom’s cousin. But, she was much more of a sister to my mom and an aunt to me. Paula was so caring and loving of me and my family. She instantly got close with both of my children and maintained that closeness through the end. She was so funny and positive – always ready with a hug and a joke or quip! My children and I miss her greatly as she always left us in a great mood and more importantly – she left us feeling LOVED.

  10. I loved working with Paula. She could have a room full of people laughing in no time, frequently at her; and she would jump right in and laugh with you. It was really hard to not smile when Paula was around.

  11. I loved working with Paula! She was bright, funny and very sarcastic. I always thought the world of her and wish her family strength and peace. If we didn’t have a graduation on Saturday I’d be there to tell you personally. May her memory be a blessing.

  12. Paula is my mom’s cousin, they were very close as children and remained close throughout life. All my memories of Paula are happy and joyful – she had a spirit about her that just made you feel good. She was always caring, bringing gifts for me or my children, always open to conversation, and always up for a good laugh. I loved that she always made it a point to visit Lake Michigan when she came to visit in Wisconsin – she sure did love the water. Paula’s spirit and love will be missed.
