Christopher Kirkweg

In Loving Memory

Kirkweg, Christopher William

November 5, 1985 - December 17, 2025

Christopher William Kirkweg, lovingly known as Chris, passed away in his home in OFallon, Missouri on December 17, 2025, at the age of 40. Born in Jefferson City, Missouri, Chris spent his life building deep roots of love, friendship, and family.

Chris was a devoted husband to his wife, Amy Kirkweg, and the proud, loving father of Oliver, Finn, and Tate Kirkweg, as well as a cherished stepfather to Henry Johnson. More than anything in this world, Chris loved his boys. Being their dad was his greatest joy, and his love for them was steady, fierce, and unconditional.

Chris is also survived by his father, William Kirkweg; his mother, Janet Kirkweg; his sister, Lindsey Kirkweg; his brother, Bryan Kirkweg; and his beloved grandfather, Alfred Kirkweg. He was deeply connected to his family and held close the friendships that meant so much to him throughout his life.

Chris was a strong man in every sense of the word. He was an extremely hard worker, someone who showed up every day with determination and grit, always doing his best for the people he loved. He had a passion for sports in all forms—reading about them, watching them, and attending events whenever he could. Sports were more than a pastime for Chris; they were a source of joy, connection, and excitement that he loved sharing with others.

Above all else, Chris will be remembered for his big heart, his loyalty, his strength, and the love he poured into his family and close friends. His presence filled a room, and his absence leaves a space that cannot be replaced.

Services to honor and remember Chris’s life will be held as follows:

  3. We are praying for all you dear Kirkwegs in this time of great loss. Chris was so special to us….Sam’s best man, soccer buddy, best friend. He brought the house down w his joke at the reception.
When he first got sick, thru Sam, he asked that I send him some Bible verses. So periodically I have done that since then. Our hearts are broken too but take strength in God’s comfort. These verses are my favorite and I know they brought peace to Chris:
” For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord”. ROMANS 8: 38-39

  5. Dear Bill, Janet and Kirkweg family:
Seems but a few days since we sat in the stands cheering on the Jeff City soccer team while Chris bravely stood tall in the goalie box. ⚽️
We love you so very much and we also grieve as our hearts go out to you during this sad time. And of course our son Sam loved Chris deeply…best friends and soccer buds; chose Chris as best man at his wedding. His joke brought the house down.
When Chris first became ill, he asked, thru Sam, that I send him some scripture verses. So we traded texts back and forth over many months. And I know the Lord, out of His love, gave us The Word that speaks to our deepest hurts and needs and turns us to Jesus our only hope.
I shared the following with him…my all time favorite verses. May their inspired message bring glory to Christ and heal our wounded hearts today and after. AMEN:
” For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. ROMANS 8: 38-39
    OUR LOVING PRAYERS CONTINUE ✝️
