In Loving Memory

Kohles, Elizabeth

Elizabeth Kohles

We would be honored for you to join us to celebrate the life of Elizabeth Kohles. O’Fallon resident, Elizabeth, 80, died on June 18th, 2020, at Avalon Memory Care in South St. Louis, Missouri.

Elizabeth’s family will hold a private service. Visitation will be held at St. Mary’s Assumption on 1126 Dolman Street St. Louis Missouri, 63104 on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from 9 am to 10 am with funeral service following.

We were blessed to be part of Elizabeth’s legacy. She lived a life of service working as a waitress at her family café through high school, working in emergency rooms and obstetrician offices for nearly 30 years as a nurse and always living her life as a servant of God and the Virgin Mary. Elizabeth would always pick up when you called and would drop everything to catch up over a cup of coffee. She was enamored with the history of the Titanic, with old houses and old radio programs.

Elizabeth is survived by her children and grandchildren whose pictures and stories she would willingly share with any and all acquaintances: Mark Kohles and grandson Graham Kohles; Geri (Scott) Berdak; Scott (Dawn) Kohles and granddaughter Adia Kohles; and many friends too numerous to list but not forgotten. Elizabeth is reunited with her husband Rodger Kohles and proceeded by her brother Robert.

Finally, the family asks in leu of flowers and in Elizabeth’s memory, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The family would also like to thank the Avalon staff for taking great care of her during the final 2 years of her life.

  1. Today is March 3, 2021. Yesterday I just learned of Betty’s death. I am so sorry that she has died. I am so sorry I did not learn of her death sooner. Yesterday I asked my Community of Benedictine Sisters to pray for Betty. She was a good woman. I knew her growing up in Nebraska. Her father, Chuck, and my father, John were brothers. The last time I was with Betty is when she was preparing her family’s home items for auction. She worked so hard and was certainly a dedicated daughter. Thank You, Betty, for being faithful to the struggle! May God hold you close in Love! Peace+ Dodi
