Amazed at his complex 35mm camera, flashbulbs, & light meter at the time..
Showed me what clinkers were in coal furnace in St. Louis
Tried to teach me Horseshoes when I could barely throw them….
Amazed when he had a Polaroid camera….
Let me shoot a .22 to trash old TV Cathode Ray tubes he brought from St. Louis to a ditch on my Uncles farm….
Explained early Xerox machine they had at his work office…
Showed off his Pontiac with power steering & auto transmission….
Amazed at his model airplanes he built & flew down at the farm ..saw one crash into a pecan tree…
    Great accordion player..
My Dad was amazed at how Johnny could navigate so good in St. Louis without a map…..
Quizzing us when he studied Catholicism…
Still trying to make pork steaks like you so skillfully did .
    A Great Father…
    Rest in Peace ..

  3. John was such a kind man, with a ready smile and sweet chuckle. He was also the best step-dad I could have ever wished for. He dearly loved my mother, and was so good to our family. This meant a great deal as we faced the challenges of her declining health, making it especially important to work together as a team. It has been wonderful to get to know his family members, who have followed in their father’s footsteps of kindness.
