died peacefully at home surrounded by the family he loved on February 22, 2018 in Ballwin, Missouri at the age of 80. Tom is survived by wife, Betty; children, Thomas, Joseph and wife Mary, Jill and husband Jonathan Harry; grandchildren, Theresa and husband Andrew Klosterman, Colleen and husband Ryan Abendroth, Michael Pisoni, Ian, Cael, and Sayer Harry; great grandchildren Olivia Ringenberg, Gwen Abendroth, and Kathryn and Mary Jayne Klosterman; and his siblings David and wife Susan and Judy Pastorello.
Tom was born on August 5, 1937 in St. Louis to Michael and Irene (Schuessler) Pisoni. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1955 where he made lifelong friends whom he enjoyed visiting with to the very end. He served in the Army in Fairbanks, Alaska, for two years, honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant in 1958. When he returned to St. Louis, he became an electrician at Union Electric Company (now Ameren) where he worked for 40 years, retiring as a Maintenance Supervisor.
Tom married Betty Duff, whom he met through mutual friends on a hay ride in 1959 and became engaged to three months later. They married in 1960 and spent the next 57 years and 6 months lovingly together, providing the absolute best possible home environment for their family.
Tom is remembered as a kind and gentle husband, parent, and friend. When his children were young, he coached them and their friends in soccer, baseball, and in softball. He loved to go fishing with family and friends, work on his home’s gardens and landscapes, swim, barbeque, and fix whatever needed to be fixed. He was generous with his talents, making repairs at friends’ and families’ homes at a moments’ notice. Family and friends meant everything to Tom and made him the most happy. He was devoted to them and they to him.
Tom was a dedicated member of the Catholic Church. His faith brought him comfort.
