  Tuesday, May 21, 2024.  Beloved husband of Helen L. Rideout (nee: McComish).  Dear brother of the late Charles (Florence) Rideout, Donald (surviving June) Rideout, Sherryl (Wray) Finley and John (surviving Donna) Rideout.  Dear friend of Carl Brawley, Rick Granda, Tom Stack, Ray Orf, Bob Staneck, Rich Jacox and Skip Thurman.  Dear brother-in-law of Patricia (the late John) Riordan, Robert (Linda) McComish and Michael (Debbie) McComish.  Our dear uncle, great uncle and friend.

Mr. Rideout was a 33-year St. Louis City Firefighter and a member of V.F.W.

SERVICES:  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church (4200 Ripa Ave. St. Louis, Missouri 63125) on Saturday, June 15, 10:00 a.m.  Contributions to Backstoppers or to the American Cancer Society appreciated.

  1. I’ve known Moe and Helen for over 25 years. I was stationed at the same fire house with Moe in the 90’s and learned a lot from him. One hell of a fire fighter and one of the funniest men I’ve ever known. He definitely kept us entertained with his humor and wit. When Moe cooked you had to be there because you never knew what he was trying to fix. Just a good guy, he will be missed. R.I.P.

  3. Helen .,Joe and I are very sad about the loss of Morris. Very long friend of mine from high school and beyond. Still see him making ALL those touchdowns with our 4 year winning teams. Always smiling and still in our hearts. GOD BLESS you both.

  4. Moe, was a great man and Fire-fighter I was a probationary Firefighter in the 90’s with him being on the Truck.. I fought one of my first fires with him in the late Rivers Young. Two Icons , so many great memories and stories. He will be truly missed. This guy was the real deal,,, RIP

  5. I was lucky enough to play with Morris on a couple of McKinley’s championship football teams. He was a tough, strong and yet modest athlete. But he also had a sly wit and a mischeivious smile that made him fun to be around. My condolences to his family and close friends.

  6. Helen, so sorry about Mo, he was always so nice and funny,he gave it a hell of a fight our hearts go out to you. We will miss his memorial because we will be in Florida, but we will be thinking about you! Fly high Mo!!
