Carole Muckler, 89, passed away peacefully following a brief illness on Saturday, August 1, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Carole moved to St. Louis as a teenager, where she would meet the love of her life, Richard F. Muckler, Sr. Together they built a beautiful life, raising five children and creating a home filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures. Carole and Richard shared a remarkable marriage, one marked by devotion, friendship, and unwavering love. He preceded her in death, but their legacy lives on through the family they cherished.
Carole was the proud and loving mother of Rick Muckler (Tammi), David Muckler (Sandy), Cindy Cunningham, Doug Muckler and Cheri Suddarth (Mark). She was a devoted grandmother to Josh James (Natalie), Steven Santoyo (Tierney), Casey Muckler, Alex Beck (Colin), Ricky Cunningham, Kaitlyn Shapiro (Andrew), Connor Muckler, Nick Muckler, Ryan Suddarth (Paige), Sarah Suddarth and Adam Suddarth. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Family was the center of Carole’s world. Throughout the years, she and Richard created countless memories with their children through trips to the family river house, ski vacations, and travels across the United States. These adventures became treasured family stories that will be shared for generations.
An avid golfer, Carole remained passionate about the game throughout her life and was golfing until the time of her passing. The golf course was one of her happiest places, where she not only enjoyed the sport but also formed many lasting friendships. Carole seemed to make friends wherever she went, a testament to her kind heart, warm smile, and genuine interest in others. Those who knew her often remarked that she was simply one of the kindest people they had ever met.
Carole and Richard enjoyed splitting their time between St. Louis and their Florida home, embracing new experiences, maintaining cherished friendships, and continuing to make the most of life together.
Carole will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, grace, and deep love for her family and friends. While her presence will be profoundly missed, the memories she created and the lives she touched will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and family that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who knew Carole honor her memory by spending time with loved ones, sharing a round of golf with friends, or performing an act of kindness for someone in need.
SERVICES: Visitation at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church (9740 Sappington Road St. Louis, Missouri 63128) on Thursday, August 6, 9:30 a.m. until funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
