Herron

In Loving Memory

Herron, Jr., William Joseph “Joe”

William Joseph “Joe” Herron, Jr., age 78, passed away peacefully Monday, October 9, 2023, surrounded by loved ones.  Joe was born on June 21, 1945 to Virginia (nee: Shepherd) and William J. Herron.  He is survived by his beloved wife Lynda of 30 years, loving father to Debra Sysmansky and Jennifer Christianson, loving stepfather to Danny Howe, Debbie Sang, Diana Coppinger and loving grandfather to 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Joe was employed for 30 years at AT&T, where he honed his mechanical skills and enjoyed nothing more than tinkering with engines, collecting and fixing anything mechanical.  A 1987 Buick Grand National was also a prized possession.  Joe was a devoted member of the Optimist Club, the Elks and the boys Club at the Leadbelt Golf League.  He especially loved playing golf, followed by a trip to any sports bar for a cold Bud Select.  Joe could be found every November gearing up for his deer hunting trips to northeast Missouri or fishing with his buddies.  Joe will be missed by his loving family, friends and lives he touched along the way.

Services:  Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road on Tuesday, October 17, 11:00 am until service at 1:00 pm.  Interment Sunset Memorial Park.
