Holliday

In Loving Memory

Holliday, Kevin C.

October 25, 1973 - September 7, 2025

Kevin C. Holliday passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, at the age of 51, while enjoying what he would describe as a “perfect Sunday.” He played a round of golf with friends,  cheered on the Pittsburgh Steelers to a first season victory, and shared a meal with his beloved wife, Meaghan.

A proud graduate of St. Louis University High, Kevin embodied the school’s call to be a “man for others.” He lived this daily—through his kindness, generosity, and unwavering care for those around him. Kevin was an exceptional cook who loved preparing meals for friends, family, and especially for those who couldn’t always get out on their own. He paid attention to the little things—like making sure everyone ate their vegetables—and the big things, too, like showing up with a smile, a meal, or a story when it was needed most.

Kevin attended Hampton University, Memphis University, and University of Missouri-Columbia to make him a master in the ever-changing world of technology.  He loved figuring out tech issues or solving a quick math problem as much as he loved a great golf scorecard.

Kevin’s greatest joy came from connection. He loved sharing stories from his childhood, high school, college days, as well as the simple laughs from everyday life. His smile often entered a room before he did, immediately making others feel cared for and comfortable.

Growing up, Kevin cherished time with his cousins, family visits, and weekends filled with easygoing music with Sam and Vivian.  Throughout his life, he held onto that sense of joy, peace, and togetherness.

His love for coaching was matched by his commitment to shaping the character of those he mentored, both on the field and in his professional life. A true leader and role model, he touched the lives of many as a caring uncle, a loyal friend, and a supportive colleague. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering encouragement left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all he mentored and loved, forever remembered for his compassion and the joy he brought into their lives.

Kevin will be remembered for his generosity of spirit, his gift of hospitality, and the love he poured into every relationship. His love for his wife was unwavering and reflected God’s presence within the two of them.  You could truly feel that Love, Joy, and Peace by being in their presence.

Kevin was preceded in death by his dear Mother, Vivian McCadney-Holliday and beloved Grandfather, Samuel McCadney.  He is survived by his wife, Meaghan Holliday, his father Clyde (Joyce) Holliday and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, friends and family.  Kevin’s  life was a living example of kindness, peacefulness, and care that will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known him.  If you met Kevin, you remembered him.  You will forever be in our hearts, Dear Kevin.  PEACE.

Services: A visitation will be held at Kutis Funeral Home, City Chapel (2906 Gravois Ave.,  63118) on Friday Sept. 12th from 4pm-8pm.  A Celebration of Kevin’s Life will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Soulard (1919 S. 7th St. 63104) on Saturday, Sept. 13th 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Interment immediately  following at Resurrection Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donation to St. Louis University High-Endowment fund, Cathedral at Pleasant Grove – Youth Department, or TriUnion AME Church.

Condolences

  1. It’s hard to explain what Kevin meant to me and of course to my husband Harold, Kevin’s cousin but really, more like his brother.
But I realized in the last few days how integral he was to our lives even though we didn’t see each other a lot. I met him first in Chicago when he and Meaghan and their buds piled into Harold’s small apartment that was conveniently located near Wrigley field. IT was like having a pack of puppies suddenly descend on us except they were all dressed in Cardinals red.
Later, we met again when Harold’s father passed away. This time less puppy energy and more quiet, unyielding support.
Then Harold and I started hosting Thanksgiving at our farm in Indiana. We both come from small families and past Thanksgivings had proven less than we had hoped, so we decided to start our own tradition. The only family we invited were Kevin & Meaghan. The rest is history. From giant turkey dinners to smaller ones and even our surprise wedding… which Kevin and Meaghan turned into a not so funny fake elopement. (Sorry about that, Fluff.) But always on Thanksgiving Kevin and Meaghan were there putting the Holliday in the holiday.
He made us laugh. He made the collard greens cuz….like I knew how do that? He showed us his competitive spirit also known in some circles as sore loser. But most of all he showed us what family really means.
How lucky we all are to know him and love him. His laugh, his eye roll. His Homey the clown imitation. He may not have been Harold’s brother or my brother-in-law, but I’m pretty sure he filled that role for us like no one else could have. So today I give Thanks that Kevin was someone in our lives. And always in our hearts.
    Love you, Meaghan.

  3. Kevin was an incredible role model to my kids; loved member of our family; and soulmate to my sister. We who knew him have been affected by his presence in our lives in a profoundly awesome way. Our lives are exceptionally better from Kevin’s presence in them. He will certainly be missed and memories of him will be lovingly cherished.

  6. Dear Holliday Family,

My most earnest condolences to you. I cannot imagine what a difficult time this may be for you.

Kevin was a gentleman of the first rank and one of inspiring character. I met him at 14 and was always impressed not merely with his intellect but his kindness, perspective, and senses of grace and humour. He always had a look of amusement and calm as well as the most delightful optimism and word of encouragement. His volunteer work of tax preparation for those in need and his dedicated efforts to serve his community in professional capacity in a demanding, technical role reveal a great deal about Kevin. He was a hard-worker too, right along with his curiosity, and it is not suprising to me he achieved all of those academic accomplishments.

    Our prayers are with you.

To be with Kevin was be in the presence of joy and humor. We had too little time with him and can only wish for more when we meet him in the place of greater light. We are with you in these months of loss. May he rest in peace and arise in glory.

  9. My dear cousin KC,

It was just a month ago or so when I texted you and you replied “what’s up crazy, lol.” We were planning an upcoming cousin get together. Who knew that would have been our last conversation! Now, I sit here and reflect on all of our family gatherings at Uncle Sam’s house, good times. You will be missed! Sadly, next month I will be home to visit but no cousin gathering. R.I.P cuzzo!

  10. I will miss our summer-days on the golf course, catching up over a cold drink or quick meal, jabbing each other in business meetings with humor that you and I only know the meaning of, and seeing your big smile show up to the party.

May God bless all of you who loved him so much!

  14. Kevin’s big heart was only matched by his big smile. He radiated good vibes and positive energy, and he enriched the brotherhood in the SLUH Class of ’92. Our loss is heaven’s gain. God rest your soul, brother.

  15. I was fortunate to have Kevin as both a classmate and teammate at SLUH. While most of our opponents saw Kevin’s toughness, we were lucky enough to also get to know the gentle giant. His smile and laugh made every room warmer and were a highlight of each reunion.

Rest in peace, 68. I will miss you and appreciate the time we got to spend together.
