I am heartbroken to hear of Jim’s passing. My deepest sympathies go out to the family. I grew up knowing the family and back in the day, Jim’s nick name was (Jim Bowie) going back to the 1960’s.
So very sorry for your loss!
So sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. He was a little order than me but he was a good guy who always had a smile and made you laugh. He was very competitive. I played sandlot soccer and football at old St. Marcus Cemetery with and against him. May our Great and Merciful Lord in Heaven send his Angels to comfort all of those in need during this time of grief.
I am so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing! He was so liked in high school and always a great person. His light will shine brightly amongst the stars. May be find eternal rest!
My heart hurts for Jim’s family for the loss of a great man. I worked at the Capitol with Jim & he always had that big smile & kind words. Prayers for the family’s peace 💜
I knew Jim from Cleveland High School, we were on the gymnastic team together for one season. I have not seen Jim since probably 1975, when I joined the USMC. I was saddened today to hear of Jimmy’s passing.
May he rest in the peace of Jesus Christ; and that same peace guard and the family in their time of sorrow.
Ronald Boyer, Pastor
Many memories with Jim growing up. Grade school and high school. At 15 we both took a job as lifeguards at an apartment complex in the central west end I remember my Mom driving us there. School picnics at OLS grade school. High school swim team he was a great diver for the team at Cleveland. Turner hall memories and the chili cook offs at the Jonaks house on Leona in the city. I last saw Jim at Holties restaurant in Imperial eating a birthday breakfast with his family in April. He said they love that place. RIP Jim you will be missed.
I will always remember Jim and his work in the legislature where we both served. I consider myself fortunate to have known and served with him.
My deepest sympathies to the family. Jim was always happy to share his knowledge with new members of the legislature. It was very much appreciated.
I am deeply saddened by the passing of Jim. His quick wit and beautiful smile will always be a great gift for many of us!

My sincere condolences to the family and friends. I played with Jim at Western illinois in the early 70’s. He not only was a very good goalkeeper but a great teammate and allot of fun to be around.
During his years as a Representative in Jefferson City Jim carried the ball to the finish line for numerous pieces of legislation beneficial to Saint Louis Police Officers and we will be forever grateful.
