Reisch, John Michael

January 4, 1960 - August 20, 2025

John Michael Reisch, Age 65, of High Ridge, MO, passed away on August 20, 2025.

John was born January 4, 1960, in Springfield, IL, the son of Edward L. and Roberta H. Reisch (Knight).

John graduated from Brookfield East High School, Brookfield, WI, in 1978 and spent 3 years studying at UW-Oshkosh.

John resided in Houston, TX, for several years where he worked with the poor and marginalized at The Magnificat House.  He resided for the past 20 years at The Society of Our Mother of Peace, High Ridge, MO, where he provided maintenance help and care for the community members.

John deeply cared for his many friends outside of his community.  John had a kind and loving heart, always wanting to help others in need.   He loved all who came into his path and greeted everyone with his beautiful smile.

John loved sports of any kind, and in his younger years was a “scratch” golfer.

Remaining to cherish John’s memory are four brothers, Edward (Mary Lou) Reisch, Madison, WI; James (Janice) Reisch, Mililani, HI; George (Kathy) Reisch, Wildwood, MO; and Brother Joseph Reisch, Ava, MO.   Also remaining to cherish John’s memory are his five sisters, Mary (William) Becker, Bloomington, MN; Roberta Hoff, De Pere, WI; Kay Reisch, Sheboygan, WI; Joannie (Edward) Baes, Holland, MI; Jennifer Reisch, Winter, WI.  John is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding John in death are his parents Edward and Roberta Reisch and brother-in-law Michael Hoff.

Visitation will be held at Kutis Funeral Home, Affton, MO on Tuesday, September 2, from 4 pm to 8 pm.  Additional visitation will take place at Our Mother of Peace Chapel, 6150 Antire Rd., High Ridge, MO, on Wednesday, September 3 from 9 am to 10 am with a funeral Mass immediately following.   After mass, procession will be made to St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, High Ridge, MO.

The family especially extends its gratitude to John’s dear friend, Brian, and others who assisted John in his final hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Society of our Mother of Peace.

  3. As I grieve the loss of my brother in law, John, I am pondering how overwhelming family reunions must have been for him. John leaves behind 21 nieces and nephews and 35 great nieces and nephews! Our happy memories will sustain us…AND, I may call upon John for some heavenly support occasionally.

  4. I was crushed to hear the news of John’s passing when George called me. So glad I was able to visit with John at his dad’s 100th birthday party. Our time together as kids in Brookfield are treasured. Wonderful memories. John will be missed. Sincere condolences to all of the Reisch extended family.

  6. This is so heart breaking! Johnny was an amazing human being, he would do anything for anyone. Gonna miss his random guitar stringing and his big beautiful contagious smile! Love you Johnny! Keep an eye on us down here!

  7. Johnny was one of the kindest and most sensitive people I’ve ever met! He worked himself to the bone everyday to survive and he passed with the love and admiration of hundreds of friends. He will be missed every single day…

  9. John was an angel long before he received his wings. He touched so many lives with a never ending kindness. One of the most honest, giving, hardworking, and kind people, he is truly missed by so many. I am so grateful to say he has touched our hearts and was a true good friend. Most of us would say he was like a part of our family. His life was a blessing and we will always treasure the memories, forever in our hearts.
