Thomas-Thomsen

In Loving Memory

Thomsen, Thomas R.

Asleep in Jesus, at age 69 on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. Tom was the son of the late Ralph and Elizabeth Thomsen.  He was married to his high school sweetheart, Diane Thomsen (nee Torrence), for 47 years. They attended Peace Lutheran Church throughout their marriage, and Tom shared his faith with their three children – Stephanie (George) Williams, Mark Thomsen and Carolyn (William) Schenck. Tom loved spending time with his children and grandchildren – Alex, Lucas, Adam and Charlie. He was dearly loved by his in-laws Steve Torrence, Barbara (David) Albert, Daniel Torrence, Matthew Torrence and Michele (Paul) Milonas; and his cousins Linda (John) Loewenstein, Joan (Robert) Matlock, Jeffrey (Sharon) Thomsen and William (Margie) Oswald. He was also a dear uncle and good friend. Tom was a retired CPA and served many throughout his career.
Whether taking long walks, hiking or playing golf with his family, Tom loved being in nature. He enjoyed traveling with Diane, listening to music, barbequing and had a smile and a kind word for everyone he met. He will be dearly missed.
Tom’s family wants to express their gratitude to Compassionate Nursing Services for the wonderful care they provided.
Services: Visitation at KUTIS AFFTON Chapel, 10151 Gravois, Sunday August 28, 3:00-8:00 PM, and on Monday, August 29 at Peace Lutheran Church (737 Barracksview Rd. 63125), 10:00 AM until service at 11:00 AM.  Interment Sunset Cemetery. Memorials to The St. Louis Chapter of the ALS Association or Feed My People.

  5. I want you to know how grateful I am to Tom for helping me take care of Bob Kuban and his home while Bob was recovering. He directed me and helped me make decisions for Bob. I don’t know how I would have handled all of it without Tom. Tom was a tremendous support. Tom you will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

  15. Tom was my dear cousin and friend. My heart breaks for Diane and his three children. As expected, he handled this with so much courage and grace. He was so good to my mom and dad over the years and they loved him very much. He will be greatly missed but he was a wonderful example for us all.

I have always known him as “Tommy”. He is my cousin and good friend. Over the years we shared our love of fishing with one another. We even took our Dads with us on a fly in Canadian fishing trip for a week. We have so many fond memories pouring into our minds and hearts. Tom was the best person one could know. We will miss him and offer our sincere sympathies to Diane and Stephanie, Mark and Carolyn.
