Wonderful husband of six years to Barbara Planthold; son of Mary Ellen Funke (Glennon) and late Ervan Planthold; dear father to Jacqueline Roach (Dustin) and Lori-Ann Chance (Derek); Stepfather to Christian Brodeur (Amanda) and Elaine Arft (Justin); grandfather of Gavin Roach, Alec Roach, Carter Chance, Charlee Chance and Maverick Chance and the late Jackson Chance; step grandfather of Cole Brodeur, Chase Brodeur, Henry Arft, Ben Arft and Penny Arft.
A Memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church on Saturday, August 20 at 10:00 am. Interment will be held in private at Resurrection Cemetery.

What a character! Met Bob 42 years ago. “How ya doin kid,” as he chewed on his cigar. Always in a good mood. Even after he left the city PD, he served the public for many more years. God always takes care of the guardians of others.

Our sincerest sympathies. The world is now deprived of yet one MORE Robert Planthold: My only brother, Robert Raymond Planthold, passed on January 27 of this year.
But another Robert Planthold yet remains, his son Robert Anthony Planthold in Chicago, brother to Raymond Francis Planthold in Oakley, CA.
