It is with deep sadness that we announce Nicole “Nikki” Renee Silberberg passed suddenly at Mercy South on Sunday, May 17th. Nikki is survived by her mother, Phyllis Silberberg; her son, Noah Alvarez; many extended family members-both blood relations and her chosen family; many friends and her 2 dogs, Gotti and Leo. She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Dan Silberberg from leukemia in 2005.
Nikki was a Missouri born transplant to California who returned to Missouri in 2017 with her mother and son. She was born July 15th, 1974 at St John’s Mercy in St Louis, Missouri to Phyllis (Blake) Silberberg and the late Dan Michael Silberberg. Moving to the West Coast around 5, Nikki became a superb swimmer who loved to dance and act. She spent lots of time with friends, taking trips to Vegas and cooking and entertaining. Nikki had her Batmitzva at Temple Israel of Hollywood in 1987. In 1992, she attended West Lake High School for girls and graduated from Van Nuys in Los Angeles, California. She attended UCLA and received her bachelor’s degree.
In 2005, Nikki welcomed the birth of her son, Noah. A proud and loving mother, Nikki was devoted to her son. They loved to spend time together and were fortunate to enjoy taking many trips. Nikki loved a good party whether it was board games and dinner or a night out. She always had a special skill for having a good time and seemed to bring the fun with her wherever she went.
She will be greatly missed by her colleagues, friends, and the enumeral connections made through her nearly 9 years at Blues City Deli and her recent work at Schaefer Autobody. Just this past year or so she also got her dream job up and running. Second Stomach, her baking business named for her father’s explanation of always having room for dessert, was just getting off the ground after many years of planning and research. Nikki will be remembered for her big, beautiful smile; truly delicious desserts; and warm hugs. The joy she shared with us all is something we will treasure forever.
For those attending the memorial we ask you please do as Nikki would have done and feel free to wear whatever attire makes you feel your best. She especially loved purples and pinks.
Services: Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois, Sunday May 31st 4:00-8:00 PM.
